Deaf and dumb cricketer Shivnarayan Sharma has been selected in the Indian deaf and dumb cricket team for the England tour. Shivnarayan will play 6 T-20 matches against England. The Indian team will reach England on 15 June. All the matches will be played from 18 to 28 June. Before leaving for England, the team will also have a camp in Delhi.
Shiv Narayan, son of an electrician and resident of Ganesh Kuncha in Mohalla Jaiganj, Aligarh, has played the World Cup in the year 2015. The Indian team became the winner in this. He was a part of the Indian team in the Champions Trophy played in Dubai in the year 2022. He was selected in the Indian team for the T20 Deaf Cricket World Cup held in Doha, Qatar in December 2023. The team became the winner in this too.
Shivnarayan needed equipment to play before going to England. IPL player Karthik Tyagi’s father Yogendra Tyagi and UPCA umpire Ashish Chaudhary called him to the Cricket Academy Hapur and presented him with a kit bag. Yogendra Tyagi said that the equipment Shivnarayan had was not very good, now he has been given the best cricket kit as per his requirement. Rinku Singh’s coach Masooduzzafar Amini and Shivnarayan’s coach Ajay Sharma have expressed happiness over Shivnarayan’s selection for the England tour.
